Business English
In OSK, English has a vital preference. Variety of courses in English according to the Common European Framework Reference for languages (CEFR), IELTS and TOEFL preparation courses are offered.
The six levels within the CEFR are A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. Currently OSK only offers classes in B1 and B2 levels. Classes in Business English mostly aim to enhance the use of English in professional settings. The main focus of the class is on phrases and vocabularies related to the field of global business environment as well as on grammar. Some of the covered topics in the classes are Negotiating Skills, Phone Conversation Skills, Advertising, Presentation, People Skills and etc.
B1 | Intermediate
At this level of knowledge, the learner can:
Talk about work, school, leisure, etc.
Cope with most of the situations in the language area
Speak simply and coherently about familiar topics and personal interests
Report on experiences and events, describe dreams, and give short explanations
B2 | Upper Intermediate
At this level of knowledge, the learner can:
Understand the main content of complex texts on concrete and abstract topics
Understand specialist discussions in their own field
Speak spontaneously and fluently with native speakers without great effort on both sides
Express themselves clearly and in detail on a wide range of topics
Explain a point of view on a current question
Indicate the advantages and disadvantages of different possibilities
For independent language use according to the common European reference frame, the focal points will be: Creative writing, reading comprehension, grammar, reading exercises, and talking exercises.
